2014 Projects

Here are the projects I completed in 2014:

Penny Sampler

.Quilts 21

I took the Penny Sampler class with Rachel at www.stitchedincolor.com and finished the quilt in early 2014.

This is my version of Jen Kingwell’s Gypsy Wife. You can read about my experiences in two blog posts here and here.

Hothouse Flowers

I was very fortunate to be able to take a workshop with Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mabley at the start of the year. This is Kaffe’s snowball pattern (Garden Chintz from his Kaffe Quilts Again book), and in my choice of colours I called it Hothouse Flowers. You can read about my workshop experience here.

Picnic Blanket

I chopped up a couple of old wool blankets and sewed them together randomly, added Kaffe Fasset fabric that I had treated with Texture Magic, and then hand quilted onto a Japanese backing fabric using large sashimi stitches and Perle 8. Read more here.

I took another Stitched in Color class called Angled and my end project was the Tangential quilt.
